About this Organic Pumpkin flour fights poverty

Description

Description

Our small-holder farmers have participated in pumpkin production under guidance of the agriculture expert Community Mobilisation Against Desertification (C-MAD) . It’s founder has been working in the field for more than 35 years. Moreover, our farmers participated in a food-handling training by an external organisation called Agricycle . The CEO Patrick and his team are an official partner of the Food and Agriculture Organisation and have a network of over 90,000 small-holder farmers all over East Africa.

Charles’ and Patrick’s passion for improving the lives of his farmers still goes on. In a pilot project Charles proved that through better training and connecting people to markets he was able to increase their income by 20%. After scaling up the project he even managed to boost their income by 50%.

Last but not least our farmers are the main drivers to escape from extreme poverty. Be part of the revolution while enjoying our delicious pumpkin chips.

This is Joseph, proud of his pumpkin harvest. He first stores his pumpkins at his house before C-MAD picks it up. Like that Joseph does not have to spend a lot of money on commuting, as C-MAD picks up in bulk from other farmers from neighbouring communities. Efficiency is close to our heart, so that we can pay good prices to the farmers and also offer fair prices to our customers.

External testers have confirmed: our pumpkins have a characteristic flavour and are free from taints. Moreover, they are light orange to brown and are relatively free from specks.

Lab test shows: our product is free from Escherichia coli, Staphylococus aureus and salmonella spp. Moreover, total viable count, total coliform count, yeast and molds are all under our other buyers limites. We are happy to share the original test result document with you. Just contact us and we will get back to you.

The varierty of the pumpkin is called: Cucurbita argyrosperma.
