“Ata-Baba” Hazelnut

"Fringed" variety of hazelnut It was obtained through folk selection in Azerbaijan. It is a late-ripening variety, spread in Sheki-Zagatala, Guba-Khachmaz regions of our republic. Nuts are medium in size, flat-tuberous in shape, thin shell, tasty and full kernel. The average weight of one fruit is 2-2.8 g, fat content is 62-69%, kernel yield is 55.2%, tasting value is 4.6 points, the fruit contains 14.1% protein. The height of the bush is 5-6 meters, it has a sparse canopy. It is harvested in 4-6 years. The yield of one bush is about 16-27 kg. The variety is resistant to diseases and pests of hazelnuts. The main pollinators are "Ata-baba", "Oil Hazelnut", "Ashrafi" and "Ganja Hazelnut".
